National Team Rider
University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI
I grew up in Ada, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007 with a degree in Environmental Science. With all rivalries aside, I am looking forward to embarking on an incredible journey across the country.
After college, I have spent the past two and a half years teaching environmental education in McCall, Idaho and Boulder, Colorado. I have worked at residential outdoor science schools, taking kids outside hiking and getting them excited about studying their surrounding environments. My true passion is education and opening the eyes of both young and old to the beauty of being outside. I am very excited to be able to put my educational background towards a different use and teach others about the importance of world health issues. While exploring the west, I have also worked as a volunteer for the National Ski Patrol and have an increasing interest in wilderness medicine. Between now and the ride, I am embarking on a journey from November 2009 – March 2010 to travel around New Zealand via 2 wheels.
I am really excited about becoming a National Rider with Ride for World Health. I think that the mission of R4WH is amazing and I think that it is so important to bring these issues across the country to educate people about what is going on around them. I am also hoping to bring a different perspective to the ride and learn as much as possible before, during and after riding. |
