Hi! My name is Kami and I am a 4th-year medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I plan to pursue a career in OB/GYN upon completion of medical school. I developed a passion for international cultures and the medical field long ago. I grew up in Southern California and was exposed to a wide variety of cultures at a young age. I loved learning the nuances of each and coming to know people with very diverse backgrounds.

Additionally, I have been interested in becoming a physician for as long as I can remember. I am fascinated by the human body, and love the idea of being able to improve peoples' health through my hard work and knowlege. I was able to nurture both of my passions at Pepperdine University where I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Madrid, Spain for a summer as well as study Sports Medicine as a pre-med student. While studying and traveling abroad, I came to further appreciate the rich cultures that exist outside the US. Additionally, I was able to see the lack of medical care available to so many in countries abroad.
Today, through the Ride for World Health, I am able to combine my passions by working to bring adequate medical care to people around the world. I truly look forward to the process of preparing for the ride - both the physical and organizational work that will go into the R4WH 2009.
I want to thank my friends, my mom and dad, Zac, Dan, my teammates, and my supporters for their contributions and continued support because I know it's going to be a long, hard road. The R4WH is bigger than any one person, but together, we can make it happen, and we can make it great!!
