National Team Rider
Boston University School of Medicine
Boston, MA
As a Colorado native, I have been on the go since day 1. I started skiing before I could fully walk and shortly thereafter started the beginning of a 20 year swimming career. Today I love cycling, skiing, hiking, camping, photography and essentially anything outdoors.
After brief stops living in Chicago and Atlanta with my family, I went to Kenyon College in Ohio and graduated with a degree in chemistry. Although my childhood dream was to be like BO! and simultaneously be a pro football, basketball and baseball player, I have long realized that I wanted to be a physician. I started my medical training at Boston University School of Medicine and will graduate this coming spring.
I am pursuing a residency in Pediatrics, and have aspired to incorporate a component of international health into my career. In the medical field, there is ample opportunity to provide services internationally. However, there is little exposure to another important aspect of IH – advocacy. Since hearing about the Ride for World Health program, I knew it was something I wanted to be involved with. It offers the perfect combination of 3200 miles of activity, advocacy, fundraising, and teamwork. I’m excited to be fortunate to end my medical school career with such a unique opportunity.
