Get Active Day!

This year as part of our efforts, we are trying to pilot a new event: Get Active Day. The goal is that this program will be piloted in Columbus so that we can have an idea of how to effectively put this event together in some of our cities on the road. It took place in Columbus on Saturday, September 25th 2012 at OSU's Lincoln Tower Fields. We invited kids and parents throughout the community free of charge to come play games such as freeze tag, wheel-barrow races, dodgeball, etc. We also had booths set up for education and ways that parents can get their kids involved in activities throughout the community such as recreational sports, biking safety and trail information, and having information on local parks. Overall it seemed like the event was a success, with the kids being very enthusiastic. We hope to replicate the event during our cross-country ride in 2012.
